Soft Interiors (1-7) -- 2014

 

Soft Interiors 1-7 are seven standard queen size pillows that have been physically manipulated and encapsulate, frozen in that manipulation, by acrylic latex house paint. The palette for these works is derived directly from a scanned image of the artist's palm. When installed these sculptural works maintain a direct reference to the body as the viewer navigates the objects within a gallery space.
